For years The Body Shop has been the original, natural, and ethical beauty brand. They are against animal testing, believe in fair trade, and their most recent campaign says "enrich not exploit". Their 3 pillars for this campaign are "enrich our people, enrich our products, and enrich our planet".
My history with the body shop started in about grade 8 when I first really started wearing makeup and using beauty products (the makeup consisted of a touch of eyeliner and concealer, and the products I used were eye makeup remover and tea tree oil), and where else would a young girl learn about makeup than from her mother. My mom uses a ton of The Body Shop products, even back then, so she passed on her traditions and knowledge of these products to me. Today, she still uses many of their products, and so it was obvious that I would ask her to accompany me to this event.
We had a great time going around to all the booths and seeing the new products, learning about The Body Shop's new campaigns and commitments, and seeing a presentation from some of the company's most important people. We also ran into one of my old professors from my fashion program, so I was able to introduce her and my mom and we had a really nice time talking for a bit and catching up. It was such a lovely and inspiring evening, and I am so proud of The Body Shop for continuing their ethical and natural commitments 40 years later.
He designed a limited edition new packaging for the company's signature hemp moisturiser for their new campaign "change", which we also received in our gift bag. $3 from every product sold goes to The Body Shop Foundation, the company's own charity whose focus is to assist those working to achieve progress in the areas of human and civil rights, environmental and animal protection)
