We left Tuesday morning around 9:30 and arrived at our hotel in Downtown Montreal around 3, just in time for check-in. We brought our bags up to our room but had to head out right away as we had half a day planned of things to do. We also hadn't eaten since breakfast, aside from some road trip snacks in the car, so we headed right for Boulevard Saint Laurent to see some shops and of course eat at Schwartz's. Schwartz's is a must if you're in Montreal for their famous Montreal smoked meat sandwich. There's usually a huge line-up out the door but because we got there around 4 we got seated right away.
After grabbing ice cream we walked and ate on our way to Old Montreal, which I had never been to before. This area is gorgeous, as I'd heard and expected. We felt like we were transported to Europe with the cobblestone streets and old buildings. We mostly walked down near the port where there was so much going on. There was a little market with tons of beautiful jewellery makers, and activities like zip lining.
Here are some miscellaneous photos.
